Thrift shops, consignment stores, rummage sales and resell apps are NOT just for environmentalists, but are fantastic solutions for anyone looking to become more eco-friendly in small ways.

Some PERSONAL benefits

  • Save Your Money (especially if you find something designer)

  • Flaunt Your Unique Style  (It’s  unlikely that anyone else will have the same clothes as you)

Now some ENVIRONMENTAL benefits (YAY-we love the environment).

  • preserve water (did you know that growing one kilogram of cotton requires 5,300 gallons of water, while wet processing and printing use 18 and 21.6 gallons respectively, per pound of cotton?)

  • decrease landfill waste (reduce annual textile waste of 60-80lbs and plastic/paper/metal packaging waste)

  • reduce chemical pollution  (chemicals including pesticides, harmful dyes, caustic soda and crude oil by-products are generally dumped into areas around manufacturing units, contaminating surface and ground water through soil runoff.)

  • lower your carbon footprint

  • inspire others to do the same
